The challenge
How do you make an adventure park stand out in a market that already has adventure?
The project was already moving towards construction. Rides had been selected, some infrastructure was being developed, but there was no master narrative or clear positioning connecting everything together.
The location presented another challenge. Set within an existing tea estate outside central Guwahati, the destination needed to give people a strong enough reason to make the journey.
Our feasibility study showed that adventure itself would not be enough. The region already had multiple adventure-led experiences. Building another collection of activities would make the destination difficult to distinguish.
The opportunity was to turn the adventure park into a world.
The approach
We didn't add a theme to an adventure park. We changed what the park was about.
Then break it into five ideas.
01 — Find the reason to be different
We started with feasibility and market understanding rather than immediately decorating what was already being built. The research showed that the destination needed to compete on more than rides and adventure activities. It needed a recognisable idea that families could understand before they arrived and remember after they left.
02 — Turn adventure into story
We selected The Jungle Book's public-domain literary world as the creative starting point and developed original interpretations, characters and new storylines around it. The intention was not to recreate an existing screen adaptation. It was to take the familiar idea of the jungle and turn it into a new adventure world created specifically for this destination. That distinction is important for the website.
03 — Make the entire park part of the story
The theme was developed from entry to exit, rather than being limited to a few themed objects.
Zones, attractions, transitions and guest moments were planned around the larger narrative so that visitors move through a connected jungle experience. The existing rides became part of that world rather than remaining isolated pieces of equipment. The destination therefore shifted from:
RIDES + ACTIVITIES
to:
CHARACTERS → STORY → ZONES → ADVENTURE → EXPERIENCE
04 — Design around what was already being built
This was not a blank-sheet project. Rides had already been selected and construction decisions were underway. Mast worked within those realities—organising the park into thematic zones, positioning existing attractions within the story and helping translate the creative direction into something that could work on the actual site. For accuracy, I would clearly state that the physical theming execution was carried out by a third-party vendor, while Mast developed the thematic direction and supported/oversaw its translation into the park.
05 — Carry the idea beyond the rides
The story does not stop once the park opens. Food choices, guest experience, operations and marketing all need to reinforce the same positioning. Mast's involvement has therefore extended into operational systems and marketing—helping the park move from simply operating attractions to consistently delivering and communicating the Jungle Adventures experience. Mast's internal operations scope includes park and safety SOPs, adventure management, F&B, guest service and multi-channel marketing/revenue systems.

The outcome
From an adventure park to a themed adventure destination.
Jungle Adventures is no longer positioned simply around the activities people can do.
It is positioned around the world they can enter and the characters they can encounter while doing them.
The park now has a distinct identity, an entry-to-exit thematic framework and a clearer reason to choose it over a conventional adventure park.
Phase 1 is operational, while the destination has room to expand through future experiences including a water park and stay component.
Adventure became the activity. Story became the reason to visit.
